Key Points on Swine Flu

Situation Update:
o Swine influenza is a respiratory disease normally found in pigs and caused by type A
influenza viruses. While outbreaks of this type of influenza are most common in pigs,
human cases of swine influenza do happen mostly by person-to-person transmission
through coughing or sneezing by people infected with the virus.
o People can also become infected by touching something with the influenza virus on it and
then touching their mouth or nose or eye.
o If you get sick have the common courtesy and sense to stay home from school, work, church, etc.
o Avoid crowded air tight places with poor circulation.
0 Get a strong immune system!
